Senior Portraits at Gas Works Park | Jacob
Some senior sessions start with outfits. Some start with poses. This one started with a place.
From the very beginning, Jacob knew exactly where he wanted his senior portraits taken. There was no scrolling through endless location options or second-guessing. Gas Works Park in Seattle was the vision from day one.
There’s something powerful about that kind of certainty, especially at this stage of life. Senior year sits right at the edge of everything changing, and knowing who you are (or at least trusting your instincts) matters.
WHY GAS WORKS PARKS
Gas Works Park isn’t a typical senior portrait location, and that’s exactly why it worked so well for Jacob. The industrial structures, open space, and city skyline created a backdrop that felt bold, grounded, and real. Nothing overly polished. Nothing forced.
It matched his personality perfectly.
Jacob brought his guitar along, which added another layer of meaning to the session. Music wasn’t just a prop; it was part of his story. Between quiet moments and confident stances, the session unfolded naturally, allowing him to show up exactly as himself.
A DRIVE WORTH MAKING
One of the most meaningful parts of this session happened before the camera ever came out.
Jacob and his mom made the drive from Olympia to Seattle just to bring this vision to life.
That kind of support doesn’t go unnoticed. Senior portraits aren’t just about the senior. They’re about the people who show up for them, who believe their ideas are worth the time, effort, and drive.
I’m incredibly grateful for the trust they placed in me and for the commitment it took to make this session happen.
MORE THAN JUST PHOTOS
Sessions like this are a reminder of why I approach senior portraits the way I do.
These photos aren’t about trends or cookie-cutter poses. They’re about documenting a season of life as it truly is. Interests. Personality. Confidence. Growth.
Jacob’s senior portraits tell a story of intention, creativity, and support. And that’s always the goal.
